Qingzhu Lake Ecological Science and Technology Park

Located in the core area in the north of Changsha, the Changsha Qingzhu Lake Ecological Science and Technology Park is under direct jurisdiction of Kaifu District People's Government. The park's construction started in December 2002. The Qingzhu Lake Town was established with the approval of the Department of Civil Affairs of Hunan Province in June, 2003. It was formally named as the Changsha Qingzhu Lake Ecological Science and Technology Park in June 2005. The park covers an area of 27.3 square kilometers including 6 communities and 3 villages and boasts a population of 14,000.

The Park and Qingzhu Lake Town have been successively included in the list of the Pilot Zone for the Construction of a Resource-conserving and Environment-firendly Society in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Area and the Construction of Key Small Towns in Hunan. Qingzhu Lake Town has also been awarded a National Beautiful Town. In early 2009, it was conferred a demonstration town for the Construction of a Resource-conserving and Environment-firendly Society by Hunan Provincial People's Government. The park was also approved as a Hunan Service Outsourcing Demonstration Zone and Changsha Service Outsourcing Demonstration Park in August, 2009.

Boasting a forest coverage rate of 50%, the park is a natural oxygen bar. Through more than ten years of efforts, the park has built a three-dimensional transportation network composed by 11 roads with a total length of 24 kilometers. Infrastructures for water supply, drainage, natural gas, electricity, telecommunications, and networking as well as public welfare facilities, including the Qingzhu Lake Exhibition Center, Xiangyi Foreign Language School, and Qingzhu Lake Heh Center, libraries and theaters with a total investment of more than two billion yuan.

In accordance with the conceptual planning of the world-famous US EDAW and the zone planning proposed by the Singapore Jurong Group, the park has set modern service industry (service outsourcing, cultural creativity, etc.), commercial real estate, sports and leisure, and modern logistics as the four pillar industries of the park by following the concept of pursuing ecological, innovative, and smart development. By the end of 2014, 18 enterprises have been introduced to the park and the town, including five modern service providers and six real estate companies with a total investment of 11.6 billion yuan.

The park serves as the exclusive service area for industries in the northern area of Changsha and the center area for the integration of cities and towns. Currently, it focuses on the development of modern service industries characterized by service outsourcing, e-commerce, cultural creativity, and headquarters economy, and the introduction of comprehensive tourism and commercial real estate industry characterized by regional commercial complexes and ecological holiday leisure industries. Eventually, the park will be transformed into a new icon in Changsha which integrates shopping, sightseeing, ecological living, cultural exchange, service outsourcing, e-commerce and headquarters economy.
