According to the statistics released by the culture and tourism department recently, in the first quarter of this year, the 420 tourist areas monitored in Hunan Province received a total of 86.4471 million tourists and achieved a tourism revenue of 14.924 billion yuan.

Among them, 16 5A-level scenic spots received a total of 17.0172 million tourists, 157 4A-level scenic spots received a total of 28.3379 million tourists, and 247 3A-level and below scenic spots received a total of 41.092 million tourists.

The number of guests received by hotels saw a steady growth. In the first quarter of this year, the 533 provincially-monitored accommodation companies rented out a total of 4.9086 million rooms, with an occupancy rate of 78.26%. 

Among them, 21 five-star hotels rented 505,500 rooms, 58 four-star hotels rented 930,700 rooms, 121 hotels with three stars and below rented 1,041,800 rooms, 191 non-star hotels rented 2,134,800 rooms, 1 camping base rented 9,000 rooms, and 141 homestay inns rented 286,800 rooms.

The cultural and museum venues still enjoyed great popularity. In the first quarter of this year, 187 museums, libraries, and cultural centers in the province welcomed 27.8298 million visitors. 

28 performance venues staged a total of 890 shows, received an audience of 656,300, and achieved a revenue of 52.8047 million yuan. 68 performance troupes staged a total of 2,700 shows, received an audience of 2.5098 million, and achieved a revenue of 73.5921 million yuan.

The tourist reception of travel agencies was gratifying. In the first quarter of this year, 117 travel agencies in the province received 485,300 domestic tourists, 42,300 inbound tourists, and 31,800 outbound tourists.
