How to judge a restaurant's food safety condition

Feb 20, 2019 Print

According to the requirements of the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA), all restaurants should put up a unified poster showing its food safety rating on a notable spot since November 2013.

On the left of the poster is the rating of the year, which represents the restaurant’s overall food safety condition during the past 12 months.

There are three grades: A, B and C, which represent excellent, good and general.

On the right of the poster is the rating of the latest food safety condition checked by concerning departments. The rating is also divided into A, B and C grades, representing excellent, good and general, and are demonstrated by face emojis.

The green laugh face stands for “excellent”, yellow smile face for “good” and red blank face for “general”.
