The main structure of four buildings in Esino Rehabilitation Equipment R&D and Production Base project has been completed, and the external decoration of two of them has also been completed with their indoor decoration and installation work ongoing.

The Phase I of the project will be put into operation in October this year.

The project is one of the leading projects attracted by Kaifu District from other cities in recent years, and also a benchmark project for Hunan-born entrepreneurs returning hometown.

“Changsha has rich cultural heritage and a series of favorable policies. The local government and industrial parks prioritize the business environment, and the industry shows strong development momentum. As a native of Hunan, it’s my responsibility to bring funds and projects to return to my hometown to build it.” Wu Zhiyong, chairman of Esino, said that they visited many cities before settling in, and besides homesickness, the advantages of the biomedicine industrial cluster and good location in Kaifu District are very attractive. 

With a total investment of about 500 million yuan and a land area of 48 mu (32,000 square meters), this project will have over 500 million yuan of an annual output value after being put into operation.

To ensure project construction services, Jinxia Economic Development Zone has helped solve key and difficult issues such as land procedures and supporting road construction.

“We will deeply develop the intelligent rehabilitation appliances and intelligent manufacturing industry, and strengthen the construction of self-owned brands. Relying on the good resources and preferential policies of Kaifu District, we will focus on building a large-scale industrial chain that integrates research and development, production, marketing, e-commerce and after-sales services, and drive the upstream and downstream enterprises of medical devices to gather in Kaifu District, helping Jinxia Economic Development Zone to become an intelligent rehabilitation medical device manufacturing industry cluster that integrates high-end manufacturing and innovative research and development,” the project leader introduced.

In recent years, Kaifu District has focused on developing four pillar industries of video cultural creation, intelligent manufacturing, modern logistics and high-end services, and vigorously developed four new emerging industries of information innovation, aviation, navigation, aerospace, intelligent construction and biopharmaceutical and massive health industry, showing a good momentum.

In 2023, the biopharmaceutical industry in Jinxia Economic Development Zone achieved an operating revenue of 44.7 billion yuan, accounting for over 29% of the city’s total output value. Kaifu District has gradually developed into a new highland for the biopharmaceutical industry in Changsha and even the whole province. 

This year, Kaifu District will strengthen the linkage development of foreign investment, foreign trade and foreign economy, and work to build a highland for opening-up in inland areas.
