Kaifu District enjoys a superior geographic location as it is the only traffic hub in Hunan province that owns a three-dimensional transportation network comprising railway, highway, subway, waterway and aviation.

In terms of railways, Kaifu District has the Beijing-Guangzhou railway and the Changsha-Shimen railway converging within. And the Changshabei Station is the origin of the Hunan-Europe Express railway, a key railway port for commodities "Made in Hunan" to be exported to European cities including Duisburg and Budapest, and to Central Asian cities like Tashkent.

In terms of highways, Kaifu District has the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, Changsha-Liuyang Expressway and G319 running through and the Transfer Highway Port is now under construction.

As for the waterways, the district is home to the Changsha New Port, an important inland port of Hunan.

The Changsha Huanghua International Airport is only 20 minutes' drive away from Kaifu District and the subway network in the district is planned and constructed in a pattern of three verticals and three horizontals.

As the largest inland port of Shanghai Port and a core inland port, the Changsha Port has an annual handling capacity of more than 150,000 TEU. The customs bonded center, cross-border e-commerce industry park and the Transfer Highway Port will form a logistic network that endows Kaifu District with absolute advantage in logistics.
